Free_in_DC_ShesSavvyFor those that know me (or know me via social media),  know that I enjoy being out and about.  If that means, double-booking and going from event to event, I’m going to make it happen.  Let me let you in on a little secret, most of the events I go to are FREE.

The great thing about living in DC is there are always so many interesting things going on.  It’s pretty easy to find out where the free (or super cheap) events are being held.

Follow websites/blogs like the ones below and your social calendar will be packed with free or cheap after-work and weekend festivities before you know it.

There are also plenty of networking events that offer complimentary food and beverages.  Join an organization that’s beneficial to your career and kill two birds with one stone.  Nothing’s wrong with networking while snacking on someone else’s dime.  Don’t forget about Lunch & Learns, many local service providers offer them and all you have to do in return is sit and listen to their hour-long sales pitch.  Who knows, you might even learn something to take back to work with you.

Feel free to share this post.  If you know of any other great FREE (or low-cost events) definitely feel free to post them in the comments section.
